Sin City has less bad stories - none come to mind, really.  Astro City's good stories have been exemplary, but it's got a few stinkers, too.  But I'm going with Astro City by a nose.

Tuesday, 11/16 toss-up:  Pick 5 DC characters to take on Galactus and list them in order of importance.  Add plot points if you prefer.

Here's mine:

  1. Superman
  2. Batman (sent by The Watcher to get the Ultimate Nullifier)
  3. Lois Lane (persuades the Silver Surfer to rebel against Galactus)
  4. The Spectre
  5. Firestorm

1. Powergirl (because I'm making this list - oh, and she'll slug it out with whichever Hearld leads the way)

2. Braniac 5 (planning)

3. Element Lad (bait & switch planetary elements to confuse Galactus's machines)

4. Phantom Stranger (to explain what Galactus is)

5. Chameleon Boy (to infiltrate Galactus's ship and bring back the Nullifier)

  1. The Green Lantern
  2. Atom (devise a defense)
  3. Flash (devise and offensives plan)
  4. Orion (to use to negotiate (god to cosmic force, then as a big hitter)
  5. Light Ray to lead the negotiations (good cop) to Orion (bad cop) and big hitter.

Since you said characters and not necessarily heroes:

1. Darkseid
2. Superman
3. Captain Marvel
4. Dr Fate
5. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

  • Mordru- As emperor of an entire space sector, Mordru has experience dealing with voracious pests who come to nibble at his storehouse of possessions.
  • Bat-Mite- Like every Batman fan, Bat-Mite is absolutely certain his hero can beat anyone and everyone, up to and including Galactus! And with Bat-Mite's help, he just might...
  • Brainiac Five- "My ancestor was considerably more intelligent and more ruthless than your continuum's Reed Richards. Long ago, he devised the means of ending your threat should it ever present itself in this universe. I'm smarter than he was, care even less about concepts of "universal order," and our science has had ten centuries to improve upon his work. I want to thank you for showing up here today..."
  • Superman- He hits harder than a dinosaur hide-covered monster snapped forward by a giant rubber band...
  • Matter-Eater Lad- Grudge match!! With a time-nullification device given to him by Brainy, Tenzil eats Galactus' entire left foot and half of his leg up to his knee before the Big G ever sees him coming...
