while certainly the substitution of Cyclops adds a conflicting personality - in doing so i think it changes the story and resulting character development of Wolverine too much - whereas Colosuss vs. Wendigo would be a nice added bit of action, and his reacting to Wolverine being more rational would underline the points.

Cyclops.

Just to see the friction between him and Mac after the fallout from Calgary.

Cyclops -Wolverine would probably resent having him looking
over his shoulder and it would make for interesting
reading.

Colossus -- a key part of the story was showing us a side of Wolverine we hadn't seen before, with him relaxing with friends. I don't think you'd have seen that with Cyclops. Colossus would have appreciated the Northern wilderness as well.

Colossus - Who wouldn't want to see Wendigo get a "Fastball Special" in the face.

Cyclops because it would get him a chance to interact with Wolverine one last time (he left in 138 so we'd have to rig this somehow - maybe they run into each other at the airport?), he's get to talk to Guardian one more time ("You know, we turned that plane around and were coming to kick your butts...") and we'd get to see him defer to a leader who is frankly less qualified than he - no cheap shot at Guardian; he's quietly the newbie in this situation, but still the authority figure in the area.

Colossus does NOT work for the same reason the story works better without Sasquatch: Wendigo's a much more formidable opponent without the heavy hitters around.  Personality-wise, he'd be fine, of course.

Saturday, 9/18 toss-up: which coulda-been romance would you like to see explored - Wolverine and Snowbird, or Superman and Wonder Woman?

Over the years I've seen the Superman & Wonder Woman match up. The Wolverine and Snowbird one sounds....Interesting.

I've seen enough of Wolverine... so Superman and Wonder Woman.
