Wow. I think, measuring them as a whole, since I like Kirby a lot more than Sturdy Steve (but Spidey more than the FF) the Lee & Kirby FF wins out..especailly since I have been reading the Essentials of them!

Boy Ted, you are really throwing out the tough questions lately. However, I go with Lee and Ditko on Amazing Spider-Man for the same reason Bruce gave.

This is the toughest yet! Cripes!
Uhhh....
...um....
...jeez...
...Cripes, I'm going to have to go Fantastic four, but it's incredibly
close! Like if FF was a perfect ten, then Spidey is a 9.999999999999999979!

So tough the margin of error is almost invisible. I may burn for this, but after a rocky start, I give it the Fantastic Four by an extended nose.

Yesterday was the first day on the boat. Summer is, unofficially, here!
TODAY'S TOSS-UP (6/2):
The Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko or the Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee & John Romita?
Think about everything, not just the art!

Lee/Ditko any day of the week. So much was done in those first 38 issues. Look at all the characters and villains that appreared during that time compared to all the characters introduced in the next 500 issues of Amazing Spider-Man.

If I were going by the art, I'd go with Lee/Romita but since I'm thinking about everything, I'll say Lee/Ditko since that set the blueprint for everything that followed. (I'm going to have to get that Omnibus soon!)

Lee/Ditko. From tiny acorns grow mighty oaks.

While the Romita years were great they could never top the perfection of the Ditko/Lee years.

Lee/Ditko. I prefer nerd Peter to pretty Peter.
