(Dylan in a million years could never write a line so brilliantly cold and captivating as "I shot a man in Reno once, just to watch him die.")

I think Bobby has plenty of cold and captivating (or whatever other emotions you want) lines in his catalog.

"Folsom Prison Blues" is an amazing song.  Start to finish.  Not a toss-away line in the whole thing.  The music to it is great as well.  I challenge anyone not to tap your foot or sing along as it plays!

I see Dylan as a true lyrical genius.  Some of my favorite Dylan lyrics are because of the SOUND of the words together.  It's not always about meaning.  He really has some power with words that allows him to fit them together in ways that are enjoyable to the ear and make you think about the how and why of them fitting together.  Great stuff.

Both are brilliant song writers, but also so different in style its difficult to compare them. So I will go with my gut.

When I was a kid I wanted to be Johnny Cash.
