the Hermit crab.  He would be an old man who lives the life of a hermit, but in New York subway.  He devises a way to stop all the trains and people form bothering him.  He has a huge backpack that he caries everything the pack looks like a shell.

honestly, they should be working together as Unseen Mastermind (Crab) and Henchman (Turtle) - between the two -- Hermit Crab is the better name.
