I would have liked to see more JB Juggernaut PERIOD.

Saturday, 11/28 toss-up: more of a "Mary Sue" character - Beta Ray Bill in The Mighty Thor or Kitty Pryde in Uncanny X-Men?

I don't have a vote for today but I had to look up what a "Mary Sue" character was so thanks for teaching me a new word/expression!

I'll go with Kitty, though definitely after JB left.

I had to look it up as well, but after reading the definition, I'd say Beta Ray Bill.

I don't know whether to feel proud or guilty for introducing the term to people!

tricky - in some ways, nearly every character Claremont wrote has had Mary Sue qualities - and of course, the Paragon nature of Beta Ray Bill was kind of the point -- but countered by the fact he's a big space horse.  I guess i'll go with Kitty, particularly as she hit her stride under Paul Smith's pencil.

This was a battle for second place, Michael.  No one tops Wolverine!  I'm beginning to think he's become unwritable, so many scribes have gone down that snikting, uber-regenerating path ne'er to return.
