Avengers. Everytime. I love those guys -- I like the way that you could shuffle the pack a little and, provided one of a ceratin few were there (Cap, Wasp, Iron Man or Thor spring to mind), it still felt like a classic line-up.

Particular faves include the late 70s line-up with WonderMan and Beast, and then the mid/late 80s Stern/Buscema version with Black Knight and Hercules.

Avengers vs Masters of Evil = great stuff!

I started as very much a Marvel kid, and although I eventually got quite a bit into DC and appreciate many of the members of the JLA in their own comics, I never really warmed to the JLA comics in and of themselves.

Welcome to the thread, Frank.

Yeah, there's no rhyme or reason to the thread.  Sometimes I steer the choices a bit, but sometimes like today it's just You Pick and You Choose the Criteria.  And if you get the hankerin' to pose some of your own, shoot me an email.  Anything DC-related would be most welcome as my DC knowledge is much worse than my Marvel (which can also be pretty poor).

JLofA - not an easy choice, there are alot of great things to consider in the Avengers favor over the years -- runs by great creators, great team line ups, memorable stories -- there are also terrible runs by the worst creators, bad lines ups and infamously bad stories - actually, most of that is true for JLA as well, particularly if one considers every franchised book connected to the two teams -- still, i think i would take the first 200 issues of JLofA over just about any other 200 issue run of a title.

I prefer the JLA over the Avengers, too much history and good stuff for so long, and I also like going even further back into the JSA.

As a Marvel man, I must go with The Avengers.

Thursday, 10/8 toss-up: who is Captain Marvel to you - The Big Red Cheese, the Kree Paragon, or Monica Rambeau?

I grew up reading both Captain Marvel (DC) and Captain Mar-Vell (Marvel) so both are Captain Marvel to me.
