I feel sorry for poor Snapper.  Only read one of his stories but I liked it, so he wins.

Monday, 9/21 toss-up: cats or dogs?

I'm allergic to cats. Dogs, by default, if not by awesomeness.

Dogs see that people feed them, shelter them, protect them and take care of their needs and think "they must be gods!"

Cats see that people feed them, shelter them, protect them and take care of their needs and think "I must be a god!"

clear winner: man's best friend, Dogs.

I love dogs. Always had a dog as a kid. Lost my last one just as I entered college. Then married a cat-loving woman, had a cat, lived in apartments and condos where I just would never have considered having a dog even though I wanted one, lost a cat, got two more cats, moved to a house where I really wanted to get a dog but my wife and cats wouldn't let me, had my wife ask me to move out, began living with a friend with a dog - an adorable sheltie, one of the breeds i'd always thought about getting - my friend is a flight attendant, so the dog and I are always here alone together, so now ostensibly I am finally a dog owner.

And it turns out I'm really a cat person.

Cats don't bark shrilly or loudly and startle you and raise your blood pressure and cats don't need constant care or to be taken for a walk or for special arrangements to be made if you get a chance to go away for the night and they don't have to be let outside every twelve hours and they don't pee on the kitchen floor and they definitely don't go out, take a dump and roll in it and come back inside and lay down on your bed covered in their own green, smelly diarrhea which they got because they were eating another animal's poop...

So yeah, cats.
