"Taking things" from other artists and being thieves are quite different things.

Continue with your inflammatory thread. I just found it unnecessarily viscous and loaded for a toss-up question.

Its an old tradition in Blues to play others' music and while playing their song, to add something of yours, making it your own. Its hard to say who wrote a lot of songs, especially between Willie Dixon and Howlin' Wolf. The two of them wrote at least a dozen songs individually that are basically the same song.
So since its traditional, its hard to say if they Zeppelin did anything wrong. They didn't pay anyone, but Wolf and DIxon didn't pay each other, either.

Then you completely misunderstand. I didn't consider it a loaded question because I didn't know there was anyone who would disagree with something so obvious.
I love both bands. I have no problem loving their music and accepting what they did to get some of it. I can love America AND admit we stole this land from the natives (Please oh please tell me we all agree we stole this land from the natives!), can't I?
(Should have gone with Whitesnake and Oasis...)

Woah, woah, woah, WOAH! Folks! Come on...
This is a nice thread with nice questions. Please. Let's all just get along.
Now it's almost sunset - why don't we all take each other by the hand and
take a long walk down the beach and forget today's question ever happened.

How about a new question: long walks on the beach at sunset -or- long walks on the beach at sunrise?
I'm partial to sunrise, since I go to bed early.

Old Question: i'll say U2
new Question: i'll say Sunrise - it's cooler and more optimistic.

How old are you Hagerman? I didn't steal anyones land, I've never owned slaves....what else should I feel guilty of as a white man, oops, caucasian?
Semi-seriously, If a man can't be held responsible for his fathers actions, how can you go that far back?
I prefer sunrises...
