I loved Perez's first run on Avengers, but his Vol. 3 work managed to top it.

Hmmm.  George Perez's art was better in volume three, but the stories (at least those by Englehart and Shooter) were better in volume one.  So I guess I'd take volume one if we're talking about the comics as a whole, volume three if we're just talking about Perez's performance.
