I had hopes that Control had something up his sleeve for The Next Men, which would have seemed a minor cop-out, but the series was basically FOUNDED upon the idea that things are not as they seem...
But Hilltop got royally fucked over... BY HIMSELF. Here we have a man of great ambition, a man who would do ANYTHING to get ahead, and use anyone in the process. And what happens? SPOILERS: He takes advantage of Jasmine, which infects him with the trigger gene, which turns him into Sathanas, who just so happens to have returned from the future to help develop the Next Men program, which is where the trigger gene comes from! Senator Hilltop, the personification of ambition and power-hunger, from the moment Sathanas enters his life, is on the track to success. All it costs him was his free will. Serves the bastard right.
Thursday 4/16 toss-up: which team-up has more appeal - Batman and Green Arrow, or Green Lantern and Firestorm?
