The Wasp. However, I did like Kurt Busiek's "solution" for the Avengers leader situation: Jan was Chairwoman, which made her The Boss at the end of the day, but Captain America was commander of the team in the field (sorta' making Cap the Executive Officer).

Yesterday: Man, I can't believe there's no love for the Mastermind/Phoenix storyline. I thought that was a fantastic storyline. Not only did it establish Mastermind as a highly dangerous villain, but a grade-A creep as well.

Today: Definitely the Wasp. Just check out the Stern/J. Buscema run for how well this worked.

Yes.  Absolutely.  But nothing beats the Guardian's Return Mindfuck.  I'm still waiting to pass the hook and sinker from that story.  No shame in second place here, IMHO.

Iron Man.  He leads a multi-billion dollar corporation.  Wasp runs a fashion business (I think).  Deeming the Wasp as a better leader would seem to be tokenism.

Stern's take on the Wasp was amazing.  She should be firmly established as one of the great leaders of comics

I like it, Kevin! It makes me feel like I'm in the old Marvel Bullpen! Excelsior!

Paulo, if you think the Wasp is a token leader, then you need to read Roger Stern's Avengers run! That book was never better, in my opinion.

Jan may not be as successful business-wise as Tony, but as a leader of a superhero team, she doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone. (Well, except Cap. But everyone takes a backseat to Cap in the leadership department!)

I wonder when Kevin will give me an old-Bullpen-style nickname... Sigh.

Wasp.
