Perry White.
He seems like an actual newspaper editor: hard-hitting, no-nonsense,
expecting the best from his staff.
Jameson is more from the yellow journalism school; which is good for the
Spider-Man stories, I suppose.
hmm, wonder what it would be like if the two switched papers . . ?

Peter Parker would be very relieved.

As a newspaper reporter for more than 10 years, this one is right in my wheel house. Perry White, of course. J. Jonah Jameson would be an absolute nightmare. And his paper must be crap - pursuing personal vendettas on the front page, nickel-and-diming his employees, not to mention using newspaper revenues to fund things like the Scorpion. Think of a newspaper run by Donald Trump. Yech.

Good question. The guy I'd like in the real world (Perry White) isn't as interesting a character as JJJ. I'm going triple J on this one.

Perry White as done by John Byrne (first time I ever liked that character!).
Otherwise, JJJ.

That would be an interesting scenario. Would JJJ consider Superman to be a menace, too? Would Superman have become as popular in Metropolis if the local newspaper had been against him from the start?
Likewise, would Spider-Man be considered a hero in New York if the Daily Bugle was run by a more fair-minded boss?
As a former newspaper reporter, I love this toss-up. I prefer Jameson as a character, but I'd much rather work for Perry White!

I could see both papers in the same city:
Daily Bugle = New York Post Daily Planet = New York Times
And there's no chance the Planet would hire Jameson.

Edwin Jarvis or Alfred Pennyworth?
I'll vote for good old Jarvis, he has the entire Avengers roster to deal with, whereas Alfred only has Bruce & Dick to serve.
