The Thing gets my vote, because back when he was a loose cannon, he could probably have beaten the other three (two really, since this was before Sue's force fields) with ease, but he always realized the right thing to do.

Yesterday: Definitely Wolverine. The Thing could be a doofus, but at least you knew his heart was in the right place. Wolverine could go postal at any moment.

Today: Mr. Fantastic. I've never liked Plastic Man - he's an annoying character. The Elongated Man is fine, but he's a second-tier character. So it's Reed all the way.
