Michael, thanks for the correction.  Of course, the Simpsons.  I have this huge blind spot on my pop-culture radar due to my never having followed that show.  It's run for what, 20 seasons or so?  (How long has it been since Tracy Ullman had a career?) That's two decades of quirky characters, hip references, plot convolutions, internet memes, and treasured, heartwarming moments (to some) that I have practically no awareness of whatsoever.  Early in the program's run, my father was dying of liver cancer, and I quite frankly didn't find brightly yellow-colored people with a "jaundiced" eye towards humor even remotely funny.  I still don't find them all that funny. "Eat my shorts, man!" Ha. Ha. Ho-ho.  Stop. Yer killin' me. Sheesh...

Mr. Weatherbee for me.  I actually rooted for him on occasion.  I only liked Skinner when he was with Miss Crabapple - who would make an awesome principal.
