Clark Kent's portrayal - Powers levels come and go and come back again, and in some ways dropping his power became problematic for other characters, but making Clark more solidly defined has been long reaching.

Clark Kent's portrayal... though Superman's powers being brought down to
more reasonable levels was a great move...

In my opinion ANYBODY could have done the power levels bit.  JB was the very first writer who made me feel like Clark Kent was a real person, with a childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.  There's a great scene where Clark is musing over Lois Lane and he states, frankly, that he wants her, and he goes on to list why.  That scene did more to make Clark AND Lois "real" to me than anything I'd read up to that point.

Monday 2/2 toss-up: which Hulk is better - the original Grey Brute or the classic green "Hulk Smash" Hulk?

Classic green Hulk.  Is there any other major comic book character with as simple a motivation and hook as Hulk and with such an enduring popularity?
