I was consistently confused by the apparent fact that Charles Xavier, routinely hailed as the most powerful mind on Earth, didn't have some telekinetic component to his powers.  As I read the scene in question, he's not contacting the Sentinel telepathically.  He's hitting it with a bolt of telekinetic force, exploding mechanisms inside the robot's head, causing it retreat and fall backwards.  Yeah, I think the "most powerful mutant mind on the planet" should be able to do such a thing every now and then.

The obvious answer is "yes, he can do it" because that issue got printed!  As to "should", I dunno.  It's a fantastic scene, from the Kirby crackle to the Sentinel holding the fishing line.  Hate to nitpick it.  Maybe the Sentinel was attuned to Xavier's mental power (the better to find him) and that made it sensitive?  That would explain it.

X-Men 98 will be a part of me to my dying day.  What a great "first issue" it was for me.

Tuesday 1/27 toss-up: better costume - Banshee or Mister Miracle?

(no idea where this question came from, sorry!)
