New Gods is a cool name, but ya gotta recognize The Eternals.  A name to inspire awe.

Monday 1/26 toss-up comes to us courtesy of X-Men 98:

The question - should Xavier's power be able to do this?

In the old days, when we rarely had to define things for them to be cool - Yes
Now, when everything has to be explained - No

I prefer Yes, 'cause I'm old and that's how we liked it!

Yes, because Claremont had authority.  I am curious as to whether he's ever done it before or since.

Yesterday, I'll go with "New Gods" being a cooler name.

As for today's question, there's absolutely no way Xavier should be able to do that. However, it's worth pointing out that Claremont was just five issues into his lengthy run. It's a mistake, yes, but one he wouldn't make a year or five years down the road.

"Suspension of disbelief" doesn't mean "sloppy and contradictory." Even the most imaginative of fictional works still require internal logic. This scene clearly makes no sense, given the way Xavier's powers are supposed to work, and that's a problem. It's a mistake, but like I said, I'll give Claremont some slack. He more than made up for it down the road!

NO, even when I read that as a kid, "I thought how can he control a machine?"

Yes, he can... As you can see in that page, man!
(anyway, maybe he forgot that power in other situations)

Eternals

and probably no, but if I can come up with a neat reason why it happened, I'd get a no-prize.

Since Superman is moving planets again, Yes Charles should be able to do that.
