Great question, Kevin. Doom/Ultron.

Going to go with Dr. Doom on this. I'm thinking he's got Ultron reprogrammed before it even starts.

Jan 15 - I thought it might be fun to see Captain America fight Doctor Octopus. But he doesn't call for help; instead, during the course of their battle, he discovers that Doc Ock is being targeted by The Punisher, and he actually has to protect the villain from Castle.
Jan 16 - I like Bruce Buchanan's idea - Luthor, the diabolical mad scientist, would expect a double-cross, and so would beat Braniac to the punch with his own. But would the twelfth level intelligence of Braniac not see that coming as well, setting up a triple-cross, and so on ad infinitum? Great question, Kevin! Great solution Bruce!

I think there's a multitude of good answers but I'm going to go with Ultron and Doom. Ultron comes to Doom for aid against the Avengers and then turns on him when victory seems at hand. Doom is at first taken aback that Ultron would DARE affront the personage of Doom and in the ensuing battles the Avengers regroup and dish out some Uru and hex.
Luthor and Brainiac might stick together a millisecond longer.
Saturday 1/17 toss-up: Spider-Man's eyes - classic smaller or modern larger?

Got to go with BIGGER (JR JR bigger, NOT McFarlane bigger).

I like classic. Gil Kane didn't seem to need to make Spider-Man's eyes so big they overwhelmed his face. And that was good enough for me.
