Iron Fist & Spider-Man
Superman vs. Sinestro Superman would call Hal Jordan if other
innocent lives were in danger.

 QUOTE:
Doctor Octopus has long been established as one of Spider-Man's most deadly foes. So there's no reason why he couldn't give Captain America, who doesn't have any superpowers of his own, more than he could handle.

Yeah.  IIRC, he's the first villain to hand Spidey his first real defeat.

Doctor Octopus is a "one punch" villain.  Aren't a lot of them?  The Joker's no Achilles either.  It's LANDING the punch that can be a challenge.

I would LOVE to read a Captain America - Doctor Octopus battle, so that's my choice.  And for extra twistage, it's Daredevil who comes to the rescue.  Not really a call for the calvary answered; more of a "I was in the neighborhood" chance encounter.  And here's the best part in my scenario: Captain America eventually gets past those swirling arms with a one-in-a-million richochet that is achieved by predicting DO's using his arms to block a straightforward shot.  That's some good comics IMHO.

Friday 1/16 toss-up: which alliance falls apart first, and who betrays whom - Brainiac and Lex Luthor vs. Superman, or Doctor Doom and Ultron vs. The Avengers?

All four have it planned but Brainiac and Lex do it a second before the other two.

Also, Doom has that small tinge of honor.

Oooooooooh  this is tough....evil bastards cannot be trusted.  I say Doom/Ultron breaks down faster.  First, Doom would use Ultron but I doubt he'd ever consider a robot as his equal.  Ultron would subvert the Doombot army and use them against Doom who is forced to use some failsafe he'd built into them and destroy them all.  Then he would fasion a new Doombot army...starting with Ultron.

Yeah, Brainiac and Lex Luthor would split up first. I'll say Brainiac betrays Lex - but Lex sees it coming and already has his own double-cross prepared.

Tough question.

I'll give the edge to Luthor/Brainiac.

A crossover involving all parties could be amazing.
