Has anyone picked up Kirby's Black Panther tpb?  If so, what did you think?

Another character who would have fit into Jack Kirby's Iron Man mag in the 1970s. The Night Flyer is one of Kirby's cooler creations. An emotionless, fearless hitman and an agent of the Corporation, the Night Flyer could have spent a lot of time trying to kill X-51 and Iron Man during that time. The mind boggles at the idea of a "suicide squad" made up of Kirby villains designed to destroy Stark Industries and X-51, including Night Flyer, and maybe Deathlok. A Ben Grimm appearance ala Project Pegasus.

Thor covers. Kirby was the absolute master of the collage cover, if that's the right word.

I love these Ghost Rider covers. I don't think I've seen them before.

Other FF covers produced in Kirby's return. The first is one of the very first comics I ever owned.

Bizarre odds and ends covers. But the first one should be reproduced by JB. It has two of the great idiosyncratic characters he's excelled with over the years, art-wise.

With Klaus Janson. Interesting mesh of styles there.

Is that the Guardian, from DC, duking it out with Cap?

Kirby designed killers. What Iron Man could have been with them.

Another JB reproduction. One of the strangest single issues in comics history.

This is a really fun thread! Here is an interesting combo Dave Cockrum inking Kirby...

If anything ever indicated Machine Man should have gone directly to Jack Kirby's IRON MAN series, it's this page.

Mr. Stack is looking for acceptance, and direction, and meaning. Though I'm sure Kirby is talking about other things, Stack's search for acceptance certainly could have benefitted from Tony Stark's real need for a representative foil.

In fact, while Stack is the machine, Stark is a man in what is a machine. Kirby could have messed all around with Tony Stark's increasing alienation inside his armor, while Aaron Stack continues to find humanity while forever denied human sensation.

EDIT: The mirror effect is of course increased by "Stack" and "Stark". I think Kirby would have had a blast playing with the ramifications, particularly as he was interested in more than mere superhero battles.

A cover by Kirby, inked hard by Romita. Never would have guessed.
