Y'know whats funny to me? That Marvel still portrays that armor in some of its toy stuff. It hasn't been used in forever. So I guess they use the armor they think will sell (toys), but don't use it in the comics...because...?
Nice work JB...can't go wrong with IF and IM.

Very nice again JB!! Iron Fist has never looked better and that is hte Iron Man I grew up with. Another lucky owner is going to be over the moon when that shows up!

JB does spoil us. He really gives us more than we deserve, but that doesn't mean we are going to be jones'in for our next fix. Great commission. Thanks again for sharing.

The armor was used in the JLA/Avengers crossover and prior to that it was the armor that Tony Stark wore just after the first "living armor" story; he was suddenly phobic so he went back to armor that was powerful enough to punch out Hulk yet primitive enough to... not come alive.
Let me put it this way: it's the simplest armor to render. I'm for it being used in toy form and mass media.
I do have one question/query/point though. Isn't most or all of the stuff that obscure non-cartoon Marvel characters have in figure form now stuff that comes with 'history of marvel comics'-type doodads, hooks, or gimmicks?
Like Iron Man wears classic armor because it's a "classic Avenger" set or comes with an old comic book.
