Is that Puma?  He was the villain in the first Spider-Man comic I ever bought.  Cool stuff!

Yes, Ryan, it's Puma!  Click the link in my sig line to see a larger picture in my gallery.  I had to reduce the size to post it to the forum.

My winnings from the May Heritage Comics Auction arrived today with page 17 from Iron Fist #15.  It's one of my favorite issues from the Iron Fist run due in no small part to the appearance of the X-Men.  Here's a scan of the full page along with a couple of panels:

My "audition" for X-MEN.

With virtually every X-Man figure redrawn by Dave!

Hmmm....

I dont' know if you can make out the footnote at the bottom of the page but it says "(A) Dave: Fix Wolvie's Costume."  As I recal from one of your previous posts, JB, Dave went a bit further than that.

Thanks for clearing that up JB -- it sure looked like you were trying to mimic Dave in those pages.

So did Dave erase your pencils and replace with his?  Or was it just an inking thing?

I also picked up a couple nice JB Avengers pages at that auction:

What I love about them -- aside from them being from some of the earliest comics I fell in love with -- is the drawing of "non muscle bound oafs" - regular people, cops, etc. -- oh -- and the bell-bottom pants (hehe).   I love it.

Nice pages, Michael. One of my all-time favorite issues, too

Great pages James and Michael! Add me to the list for saying that issue of Avengers is one of my favorites.

Gorgeous stuff, James and Michael!  I loved the Grey Gargoyle issues of Avengers.

"(A) Dave: Fix Wolvie's Costume."

***

Rather than "fix", that should read "add". I had no reference for the "Fang" costume, and somehow noone at Marvel was able or inclined to send me any. So I drew Wolverine "naked" and asked that Cockrum add the costume.

Whether on his own, or on orders from on high, Dave took this as a cue to redraw all the other X-Men figures and faces, too.
