Of course recreations count! This is the "New Art" thread not the "New Art That Was Officially Published Somewhere" thread! If you scan through the previous 30-some pages of this thread you will see lots of recreations.
Brian, that has got to be a great feeling to add that to your collection! Congrats!

I always thought that the "new" in the "New Art" thread referred to the fact that somebody had acquired a new piece of original art (whether an old or new published piece or a commission of whatever kind). And though I've yet to enter the commissioning or original art buying game, I must say that I immensely enjoy the thread. O and thanks for sharing guys!

George that's extremely cool. Might be more appropriate for the "What's in your sketchbook?" thread since it is your own work. I love the detail of Doc Ock and Luthor in the background! That's a huge piece!

Here's a pencil sketch I got from Michael Golden at Gem City Con in Dayton last weekend. Acroyear from The Micronauts:

A commission of Clea by Frank Brunner. This goes nicely with my Gene Colan Clea.

Loving that Acroyear piece from Golden! Dave, he just looks ready to kick some arse...how long did it take him to do it?
Frank Brunner still is doing some incredible art.

I think it took about an hour. I didn't watch him do it all.
