Congrats again, Joe. A very fine commission piece indeed.

Got the Matt Broome pages I bought in the mail today. They look even better in person than the images I posted on the previous page.

With all the commissions shown here I was wondering...anyone ever get John Romita, Jr. to do a commission?

Ryan:  Like his father, John Romita Jr does not do commission work on any consistent basis.

There was one exception about 5 years ago when a family member (or someone close to JR JR) had serious medical issues.  In order to help out, JR JR started doing commissions and sketches for a very limited period of time.  He also did some marathon-type sketching and signing sessions at comic shops in connection to this, as well.

At present, he does a lot of sketching at shows, usually in exchange for a donation to a charitable cause.  No commissions, however.

Incidentally, people have offered John Romita Sr crazy amounts of money to do commissions, but he steadfastly turns them down.  He and Joe Kubert auctioned off one character commissions for charity in the last year or two.  Because it was such a rare opportunity, those went for many thousands of dollars on eBay.

And if i recall, they also went above the norm and offered the second place bidder a commission as well if he matched the winning bid, which the guy did..i think it was a Hawkman by Kubert.

Normally, I'm not a big fan of pages without the lettering, but this one doesn't need it.  The final panel displaying the Cosmic Cube creates a lump in my throat.  So simple, yet so deadly.

That's a really nice page from Steve Epting. I have to say I like this new style he is using these days over his work back when he was on Avengers.

Not really a commission (because it was a gift) but this links to a piece John did for a french mag (where I wrote about his career)  klaus janson worked his magic over John' pencils (sorry, I can't find a way to resize the scan so it would fit here)

Thanks Gerry

And if you feel like resizing again (I don't have any tools here at work) this links to the pencil piece that John sent to Klaus

That's the most faithful I've ever seen Janson be to someone else's pencils.  I like it.  I usually think his inks dominate the pencils too much.
