I've been checking out the New Gods pages available. Some damn fine stuff up for grabs. Excellent choices, Joe.

What's great about the New Gods series to me as a collector is that JB usually drew several characters on each page. Also, the backgrounds are amazing. I get the sense JB really enjoyed working on this project. He went all out with the artwork.

Great pieces guys. I haven't been able to post for a while but I need to get back into the swing of things and buy some new pages myself. Joe, I'm a huge fan of JB's 4th World stuff, so I'm really envious of your pages.

Joe, I've toyed with the idea of purchasing that first page a numbe of times - it's very striking, and I like the Waicek inks. But since I'd never read that issue, I didn't have a personal connection to it, and so I've always backed away from it. Glad to see someone's purchased it, 'cause it's a great image.

I had to be very proactive. When I first saw the cover I knew I had to have it I sent multiple emails to Whilce Portacio over the last few months (I think I had 4 different email addresses for him) and I never got a response. So I sent a email to the rep of Richard Friend (who is the inker). My original intent was to try and get contact information for Whilce, but the rep let me know that Richard might be getting the cover, not Whilce. So I kept checking in and sure enough he got the cover and I was the first in line. Lucky me.

This hobby can be very difficult if you are on financial restraints. I wish I could buy everything I like. But that's not the case so I have to pick and choose and sometimes sell art I really don't want to. Every time I second guess myself on having this hobby, I end up being able to get a piece of art that makes me take it back and realize how much I love it. Never did I ever think as a child collecting comics that I would be able to get a piece of art done for me by John Byrne and Bob Layton to name a few. It can be very rewarding.

You sure said it, Abraham. I'm just getting in to all this and it
becomes a huge question of what to go for. Fortunately I am mainly
looking for pages from comics that really interested me over the years.
Those tend to be some of the lower priced pages out there. Which works
good for me. And since I have zero intentions of ever selling the pages
I get the price is a small amount to pay to own them forever.
And there's all the artists available for commission work. It really
is like being a kid in a candy store. Well comic shop in this case I
guess.
