Gerry, these Colan pieces you've been posting are blowing me away!

Does anyone know if there have been any books published that are devoted to Gene Colan's art...sketchbooks or anything?

Aaron:  Seek out the recent "Secrets in the Shadows" bio of Gene from Twomorrows.  It has tons of art...  even a piece inked by JB.

Just seen the inked version of Gene Golan's Dr Stange commission for Gerry, WOW! I love it, that is some great inking, no wonder the artist recommends him. I have them both lined up for a commission piece, more in four months........................

Congratulations to the nice inks on your Colan piece, Gerry.
Even though it was a VERY fine work of art even without inks. Some of these pencils are so fine, I kinda wish they would print some comics in pencils.

Actually, I received the first three HCs of Busiek's and Perez' Avengers run, and in the first one they had included the pencils for (if not the whole thing then at least a lot) # 1. I'll be looking at those more closely when I've read the thing, but I enjoyed seeing that that little extra feature was in the book. :)

I actually love pencil only work!  I don't expect to get my Colan piece inked.  Something about pencil only work seems so fresh to me, so reaw.  You can feel the energy on the page.  I have long considered getting a pencil only JB piece.
