Time for me to add to one of these. I am just getting my feet wet in this wonderful world of commissions and original art. My next stop is John Byrne art (and a commission I hope one day). But I was able to get some great original pages from a favorite comic of mine. Jim Valentino's run on Guardians of the Galaxy. As a result of that Jim Valentino was kind enough to come up with a very cool cover reinterpretation for me.
The original

A redone version with Guardians characters.

Some of them weren't actually used in his run. But awhile back he posted what would've happened on the title if he'd stayed to issue #50. So he populated the page with characters that with potential and actual Guardians.
I can't wait until this arrives and is hanging on my wall.
These original art purchases and commissions are addicting. I totally understand now what many of you have said over the years about them.

Some very beautiful art posted here. I have a JB commission but I have yet to get a published piece. I am looking though.

That's a great Paul Smith piece. In my opinion one of the most under-rated artists out there. I wish he'd do more comic book work.

I commissioned the following from Bob Layton back in June:

I came up with the idea of getting full-size commissions of my favorite corner box images. This is my favorite Iron Man pose, from one of my favorite issues.
Someday, if the money allows, I'd like to get JB to draw a full-size version of his Fantastic Four corner box for me.

Thanks, Gerry. Back when I was a lad, I had an image enlarging projector and I used to blow up my favorite corner boxes and then trace the outlines and fill in the details after. A few months back the idea came to me to have my favorite artists do the same thing for me (only better, obviously).
Oh, and mail back at ya.

Wow! Roger, that's such a great idea. I miss those corner-boxes. I used to love the old round ones, as well. Very cool.

Well, this is the only work of original art (of any kind) that I own (so far...), and it's by our esteemed host. JBNM is my favourite comic ever, so I was really pleased to be able to have an original page. Uncertain of my wife's reaction (a non-fan), I showed it to her, and she gasped, "That face!" (referring to Ignis). She completely 'got' why I liked this page so much, and said "We are getting that one aren't we?". Once she used the ' W ' word, I knew there'd be no problems! : )

This giant Sentinel was waiting on my doorstep yesterday afternoon courtesy of Jim Warden and the United States Postal Service. It's page 8 from X-Men #179 by Salvador Larroca.

James, that is a really sweet piece. I'm not familiar with Larroca's work, but that is a nice addition for any collection.

Thanks, Paul. Larroca does some beautiful work. I've purchased a number of nice pages from Jim Warden, so I'd recommend you check out his site to see some additional examples of Larroca's work.
