Great page Paul! I plan to add a Blood of the Demon page to
my collection in the near future.

Silly question: are most of the 11 x 17 pages on this thread scanned or shot with a digital camera? If a scanner, where can you find one. The largest I've ever seen is 8 1/2 x 14.

They're all scanned. I have a "commercial" sized
scanner, an Epson Expression 1640XL.

I'm wondering if this Namor splash page being offered on Ebay is legit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017& ;sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=27004944 0125&rd=1&rd=1
I ask because of the 11" x 14" dimensions and what looks like photocopy.

Derek-You can also find a relatively inexpensive 11x 17 scanner called a Mustek A3 USB new on ebay for under $200. I have one and a lot of folks I know use it also to scan full size comic art.

Thanks, Greg. I have some art I want to post, so now I can. I'll check it out. <end>

Joe, I recommend buying a Blood of the Demon page. The art is so layered, even on the "common" pages that you can tell JB had a lot of fun drawing that book. The art, for me, on that comic rates as some of the best in JB's career.
I've been saying it over a year, but I'm going to buy me a scanner one of these days.

James: Maybe 11 x 14 refers to the image area, as opposed to the size of the paper itself?
As for the photocopied image... I dunno. Some people reduce art down to size on a photocopier and then scan in the photocopy. Impossible to tell what is going on in this case, however.

Here is Paul Smith that I recently picked up.

Hmm. The Doom/Kang fusion doesn't really work,
but the rest is pretty sweet!
I agree JB that fusion of the two is the only part that doesn't work for me, but like you said the rest is pretty sweet. I do love the piece overall though, especially the "Conquerer Doom" logo added to it.

I ask because of the 11" x 14" dimensions and what looks like photocopy.*** For a while, on both NAMOR and NEXT MEN, I experimented with drawing the pages (art area) 8x12 rather than 10x15. My brush line had become very tight and slender, and some of the lines were dropping out in the printing. I reasoned that making the original art smaller would get rid of this problem -- which it did. This page is from one of the "smaller" NAMOR issues. The 11x14 refers, I suppose, to the size of the paper, not the art.

Why did some of the early Namor issues have the shady effects made on a copy instead of having the original inked page with the effects on it, the way it was made a few issues later?
Question for art collectors: how long does it take until Jim Warden replies about an art purchase? I bought a page years ago so I can`t remember...and I can't wait now to get a new one!!!
