Guy Davis is amazing. He is one of the best reasons to go to the Motor City Con every year.

Thanks Gerry (Happy Birthday).

-- It's such a learning process -- I was so happy with that Dr Strange piece when I finished it - but I look at it now and wish I had used different tools on various parts of it.  But not bad for my 4th or 5th inking attempt...

Back in the game.  Just got confirmation that this has been put aside for me:

It's a page from Thor #384 by Ron Frenz featuring the "Thor of the Future".  This was my first ever Thor comic and I now have a page from issues 384, 385 and 386!

Is Ron Frenz doing comics anymore? I loved his Thor run.

Ron Frenz has been working on Spider-Girl for close to 10 years. He and Pat Olliffe were rotating on art chores most of that time, but Frenz has been the regular artist now for the past three years.

Good to know! - I'll take a look the next time I venture into a comic book shop.

Thanks!

My Joe Kubert newspaper strip was done on a piece of a DC Comics art board that had been cut into pieces.

I just got my beautiful page from Generations 1 and it is gorgeous! Two
things I noticed and have questions about Mr. Byrne, are the following:

1) I noticed very few (if any) pencil marks on the page. When inking
yourself, do you do a lot of it in ink - even the incredibly intricate
architecture??

and 2) I also noticed you chose to do the work on the backside of the
page - without all the blue-line guides and stuff. Is this normal for you
and if so, why?

Dealing with Jim was a dream which sums up what it's like to finally own a
piece from you. I sincerely hope it's the first of a long run.

Even more interesting...Ron Frenz did some work for Superman at DC in the late 90s but before that the only DC work of his I can even find was Superman Annual 1 from 1987.  This comic was published the same year as my Thor page, so I'm guessing he used some left over DC pages from the Annual for this Thor assignment.  Also, to bring everything full circle and show that the JBF truly is the center of the universe, Superman Annual 1 was written by our very own...John Byrne!
