If you keep your eyes peeled at cons or online you can find some really good pieces for cheap. I saw Ron Frenz at a con a few years back and he claimed he had too much of his original art in his house and was unloading pages for five/ten bucks a pop. I was in Thor heaven.

I've kicked myself for not buying a few pieces of Frank Miller Wolverine art when I had the chance in the early 90's. What was hundreds then is now a years salary for some of my employees!

Well. Paul, now you have a small idea of how I feel when I see the prices commanded nowadays by all those X-MEN pages I sold for $50!!

Here is Paul Smith that I recently picked up.

Hmm. The Doom/Kang fusion doesn't really work,
but the rest is pretty sweet!

JB, by the time I starting seeing you at cons those Uncanny pages were long gone. But I wish I started going to MOC a little earlier. Maybe then I would have been able to give those pages a good home, for life. My life at least, I'm sure my wife will be selling off my collection before my body gets cold! ;-)

Shaun, any chance you could post a larger scan of that piece sideways?

The doorbell rang a few minutes ago and here is what was in the package. Fresh out the box!

This is what JB does best. Setting, perspective and detail.

Looks awesome, Paul. Kinda makes me wish I could see it life-size. Just to get an even better look at all that detail. :)

I spend all my money on art Joakim, I can't afford a fancy scanner. Seriously, look in the gallery section and you can see the uninked version of this page with more clarity. BOTD #14 page 10.

O, you misunderstand, me Paul. It wasn't a complaint about the scan. More a comment of the kind that I'd just love to spend some time gazing at that particular piece of JB IRL.
It is a very fine piece, and I congratulate you on getting it Paul.

Edited for durn typos.

Thanks, JB, it is truly a beautiful piece. And my screen is way to small (durn it). If I ever get to the US, I will do my darndest to invite myself over to all of these little JB art museums that so many members of our dear forum actually host in their living quarters. ;)

Makes me sometimes wish that I could afford a commission or a piece of actual comic artwork... but then apart from the money issue, there'd be the space issue. At the moment, most of my money and space goes to comics (incl. TPBs & HCs), books, DVDs and CDs. And while I appreciate the wonderful art displayed here, I'll always favour buying a story, I think. I'm just a sucker for narratives regardless of what medium they're in.
But as stated... so much wonderful stuff. And it would be nice at some point getting at least to see one or two of these originals in reality.

In the meantime, thank you ever so much for sharing your collections so freely in here guys.

Edited for another durn typo.
