What a fantastic interview. I also thought JB sounded different than I imagined but soon it sounded just right.

Great interview!
Even though I was 'expecting' J.B's voice to sound like an evil cackling villain or perhaps like Darth Vader...
It was a big shock to hear that J.B sounded human.

"or perhaps like Darth Vader.."
Well, he did wear black at the last MOC, and he's a tall guy.

Comments on how my voice sounded (or didn't) to listeners somewhat underscores how different the comicbook world is today than it has been for most of its history. When I was a lad, reading these things, I had no idea what the artists and writers even looked like, never mind what they sounded like. Even when Marvel published an array of pictures, they were so badly printed you could never have picked anyone out of a line-up, even with the pictures in front of you.(It's kinda funny, too, that I am often accused of putting myself into "everything" I draw, yet when others caricature me they usually end up miles off the target.)

Your voice reminded me just a little of Steve Martin; in a good way. Maybe
it was your intonation.
Thanks for giving this interview! Nice to actually hear your comments to
some of these questions.

Just finished listening and thought it was great. You should have your own
show Mr. Byrne.
It brought back the fond memories of when I first got into comics. That
Starlord issue was my first encounter with your work and I was a fan from
then on.
Thanks.

Just loads of fun, I am listening right now and I am really enjoying it. It still kind of amazes me to be able to have the access that we have to you(JB). Keep up the good fight and always be who you are. Props out to the Comic Book Podcast, great work fellas!

I just got around to listening to the podcast.
For a long time I thought bad bad things about John Byrne. From the
crap he talked about other creators(seemingly taken out of context), to his views on the crocodile
hunter. I automatically hated Mr. Byrne just like so many poeple (alot
who are vocal) seem to do also.
I was wrong.
After listening to the Podcast, I feel like a complete idiot for
blindly following the perceived perceptions of Mr. Byrne. Besides being
one of the greatest cartoonists of all time, he just might be the
single greatest comic book creator of all time.
I tend to stay away from fanboy comic conversations. But I just had to
say that listening to the podcast and hearing Mr. Byrne's thoughts and insights clear up alot of misconceptions I had about the
man.
I think if those who would say negative things about the man would just
open their ears and listen to what he says without taking it out of
context, they might find out what I have found out...
John Byrne is a true genius.
Anyone who says any different is wrong and I am proud to be a new member of his forums.
Mr Byrne, thank you for creating the books you have created and thank you for expressing the thoughts you have expressed.
I have a new favorite comics creator.
I will be purchasing everything you write and will be collecting past issues of everything you have written.
