Wonder Woman's costume doesn't really work for me either. None of the
explanations for her wearing this design and colors ever rang true to me.
(But I LOVE the character.)

Which reminded me of General Glory from the Justice League:
(I like this design - it has an authentic 1940's feel with the striped tights).
..This is about as basic a patriotic "costume" as you could get:

Sean Hollenhors: "Blue Eagle from squadron Supreme is weird"
Bill Collins: "Yes,as he`s predominantly red!"
------------------------------
That's the uniform that he wore as American Eagle, prior to changing his name to Cap'n Hawk and then eventually Blue Eagle.

I really liked the Star Spangled Kid. Been reading the whole INFINITY INC series recently. On one website this costume is considered majorly silly, but I think it's cool, along with his name Sylvester Pemberton. At least it's original.

I think Captain America and the Guardian's costumes are by far the best patriotic ones ever. The first is an intelligent variation of the flag while the second is exactly the flag plus a pair of gloves.
There is also another one, one I am responsible for and which none of you may have heard of, Cyanoleukos (that means Cyan-White), a Greek super-hero of sorts. Here's a picture:

My favorites: Guardian, Captain America, Union Jack and Captain Britain.
This dicussion makes me wish JB had Alpha Flight encounter the Soviet Super Soldiers back in the day!
