Those two were both sitting next to Walt Simonson.  I asked for a Captain Marvel sketch based on his Day of Vengence covers.   I love it but I'm still kicking myself for not getting an armored Thor.

My last one from that convention was this Elektra from Mark Texeira.

I went to the Paradise Comics Toronto Show last April.  The first sketch I got was from Amanda Conner.  I couldn't resist I had to ask for a Powergirl.  This sketch is the first page in my JSA/Golden Age DC Sketchbook.  I think its a great way to start it off.

The next sketch was from Darwyn Cooke.  He seems like a great guy.  He was doing sketches for free, and was chatting away with whoever came up to him.  I asked for the oath to be included and Darwyn put his own twist on it.

Getting this Dale Eaglesham sketch was one of my favorite convention experiences.  He actually has you come around the table, sit next to him and watch as he draws your sketch.  It was nice chatting with him while he was drawing.

This is my only George Perez sketch.  He's drawn so many characters, and is such a great artist, I couldn't decide who to get.  I figured I couldn't go wrong with Wonder Woman.  He ended up taking my sketchbook to the hotel that night to finish.  The finished product came out wonderfully I think.

Adam, first I'm glad you are keeping the thread going. Second, nice sketches. Third that Cooke GL is top notch. I'm really jealous of that one!

Paul, thanks.  All your sketches are the ones that inspired me to get off my butt, get my digital camera out and upload them.  The Cooke GL is one of my favorites too.  Every sketch of his I saw that weekend was out of this world.  Plus he was wearing a "Ferris Aircraft" hat that someone had given him.

Here's my second Michael Lark sketch.  I asked for Spider-Man in his black costume based on his heavy use of black in the Batman sketch.  He's another one who's always producing great sketches.

Tom Grummett, who's the number 2 Titans penciler for me after Perez, did this Superboy for me.  I'm not sure but it may've been just after he met his end in Infinite Crisis.  I asked for either Superboy or Kid Flash.  He did Superboy because he joked Kid Flash's boots couldn't exist as three dimensional shapes.

Bryan Lee O'Malley of Scott Pilgrim fame was at Toronto.  I had him draw me a Scott Pilgrim based on his Super Mario Brothers 3 Homage Promotional Postcard.  I'm not sure how much he liked the final product, but as a kid who grew up stomping Koopa Troopas I love it.

This sketch is by Agnes Garbowski.  I'm not sure what she's done professionally in comics.  I think she's from Adrian Alphona's studio.  It was the last day of the convention and she was doing free sketches, and I asked her for Molly (AKA Bruiser, AKA Princess Powerful) from Runaways. She did it in blue because, "She looks like such a soft character."
