ok, this is such a tease, but... since I travel for work, most of my stuff is boxed up in storage, so... someday, I'll unpack and scan stuff, but, just to toss out some names...

I own the infamous JB "Batman smiley face" sketch that somehow turned into a "Bad Byrne" story (but I bought it off eBay).  I've also got some cool restaurant placemats with art by folks like Darick Robertson and Kieron Dywer, and Geoff Johns drew me a cool Joker pic when we all went drinking with him in LA that time... I also have, from back when I was, oh, 15 or so, a con sketch of Iron Man by Mark Gruenwald.  (it's right next to a Spider-Man sketch by Rob Liefield - and let me justify that - I'm neither a fan of his, nor do I hate him - he's not my cup of tea, for sure.  But, as many have said about him, he was super nice in person, and it was really early in his career, so he wasn't a "superstar" yet - and the only reason I stopped to talk to him was that he did the interiors to the Spider-Man Annual that JB did the cover to - and that caught my interest... plus he was sitting next to Gruenwald.  So after I got the sketch from Gruenwald, he offered one up, and that's how it happened.)

To be honest, I feel funny asking for sketches when I used to go to cons, and more so when I started "working" the cons, as I felt like there was some sort of line I was crossing - like, if you're on that side of the table, if you're out drinking with the guys, etc, it wasn't right to ask for a sketch or autograph...

Having said that, in a frequently repeated story here, I had a geek-out at one party when I realized the two guys I was sitting next to on a couch, talking with for the previous hour, were, in fact, Mike Allred and Jamie Hernandez.

Anyway - I'll post them when I dig them out, when ever I move again... so.. like... in a year or so, basically...

Here's the one Convention sketch I have scanned at the moment, if I find more I'll post tomorrow:

And from the same con, another page with Pini & Moorcock(and a small sketch by Moorcock):

This wasn't a convention sketch, but it's a cool little doodle nonetheless. Guy named Byrne:

That's a pretty nifty sketch, even if you can't see Tarantula's feet.

Dave & Everyone Else:

Great sketches!

I'll have to upload some of my others when I get home, but in the meantime, let me attempt to upload 3 of the ones I've put on the net already from this year's Heroes Convention:

Some quick background, 6 children, all homeschooled.  Heroes Convention was an Art Appreciation Field Trip.  The kids asked for all the sketches, asked the artists questions on how they work, what type of tools they use, etc. etc. They took the pictures and will put it together into a scrapbook.  Me?  I simply drove, and tried to tell them not to be nervous, the worst the artists will say is "No".

And man, I can't believe we missed Andy Smith!! :* (

So first up Mike Wieringo.  I tell Logan (10 year old son) he works on Spider-Man, and he's done the Fantastic Four.

Who does he ask for?

Dad's Favorite: Hawkeye!  That's my boy!!! :)

Next up, Kelsie (10 year old girl, yep, twins) saw Travis Charest.  On Sunday, he had a "Sorry, No Sketches" sign on his table, so I'm guessing we received one of the few sketches he did that weekend.

Travis asked who Kelsie would like, and she promptly offered up...

And finally, our first guest of the weekend, Louis Small Jr.  We met him at Mid Ohio in 2000, and again in Pittsburgh in 2001.

Would he remember this family of 6, now 8!, after 5 years?

Yep, he sure did.  So we chatted with him for about 20 minutes, and he provided us with this lovely Batgirl.  It looks even better in color, but hey, what can I do?

And, I'll try and get some more pictures uploaded tonight or tomorrow.

Christ on a bike! Some of these are beyond fantastic! I prefer the really
"spontaneous" ones over than the more belabored pieces!

Steven - I love that Stray Toaster sketch by Bill Sienkewicz, poor guy one more extension cord and he'd be happy.

Here's an unusual one:

Howard Chaykin drew this leg to humor me when I pointed out that the
legs of his characters looked like Alex Toth's, and not like Gil Kane's, to
whom he attributed all anatomy skills. I still think I am right! Very nice
guy, Chaykin.
