That's tremendous fighting, Marcus! Had never seen it. Thanks for posting
that.

Flavio -- the real kicker is how long it took to bang that story out [[if memory serves]] Gene Colan had the flu, and Jack banged it out over a weekend. I actually took a few pages from that book, blew then up & framed them. Looked great, too.

I believe that first panel contains the single greatest "impact" shot ever produced in a comic book. Man, do I need to get my hands on a copy of this story someday...

I believe you, John!
Talk about doing good comics...I just read the last page and feel like I need
to know how the cliffhanger plays out!

Like I mentioned before I have this story (The Power of Iron Man) from Marvel's Greatest Superhero Battles a big trade published after Origins of Marvel Comics in 1978. My copy is pretty dogeared but I scanned it from that book. According to the book, John O'Connor is correct Colan got the flu and Kirby filled-in. When drawing I always go back to that story for a lesson in POWER! i think modern comics could take a few lessons from it as well.

Good God, that Jack Kirby is the Jackie Chan of comic book fights. This is my favorite fight and favorite single issue Marvel comic of all time--

Madison Jeffries vs. Courtney Delphine in Alpha Flight #28 ( I think).

While it wasn't much of a battle, the fact that Delphine gets her just desserts after setting up Mac was satisifying to me as a fan.

"X-Men & Hellfire Club (in some truly hideous costumes) vs. Nimrod, UXM 209 "

This one gets my vote as well. It was the first thing I thought of. Great JR JR art.
