Wallace: Hmmm... All Marvel books...
Trevor: which MUST mean that DC Comics blows...wait, what?
Wallace: ...or that (for me) those Marvel battles have just been more memorable.

John, thanks for posting that TALES TO ASTONISH cover. It's still hard for me to believe that that epic battle was a mere 22 pages!

So many, it's sheer torture, but heres 10 in no particular order:
Galactus vs. Sphinx ...FF # 213 ( bitch-slap ! ) Down goes Spinx!
Ultron v. Avengers ( vol. 3 )...uh Hank, I think you can stop punching him now!
Future reality JLA vs Darksied ...JLA # 13 "He's in your head you big ugly moron"
Iron Man vs. Hulk & Nanor...What if # 3... He almost pulled it off !
Iron Man vs. Hulk #131.... ahhh payback for the above story
Thor vs. The Celestials ....Thor # 300.........no chance !
Shang-Chi vs. The Cat ...MOKF # 39 ....like poetry in motion
Warlock vs. the crew of one of Magus' cruisers in Strange Tales # 179? very spooky !
Avengers vs. Count Nefaria...Avengers #166 ...Vision gets the Drop on him !
Batman vs. mutant gang leader in Dark Knight Returns ( surgery )
Legion vs. the Time Trapper ..Baxter series # 50.... the four conspiracy legionairres + Rond Vidar and the Infinite Man in a little smackdown at the end of time.
oops, I exceeded my limit, man, this is addictive !!!

Oooh, Jon Bodin reminded me of another of my favorites -- the Legion vs.
Darkseid and all the corrupted Daxamites during the Great Darkness Saga.
Oh, and the two times the Titans fought Trigon.
And the fight between Dick Grayson and Deathstroke during The Judas
Contract.

*************
Oooh, John Mietus reminded me of another of my favorites-- the Legion vs.
Omega in Superboy and the Legion 251. The story was originally supposed
to be longer (for a oversize issue or tabloid maybe?) but was reduced for a
17 page book after the DC implosion. I wish we could have seen the entire
fight before they edited it for a monthly book.

I liked this battle between Thor and the Hulk.
I also loved the Thing vs the Thing from MTIO#50.

- Wolverine vs Silver Samurai, UXM 173
- Everybody vs. Galactus! Nuff Said! FF 245
- X-Men & Hellfire Club (in some truly hideous costumes) vs. Nimrod, UXM 209
- Wolverine vs. Sabretooth, UXM 213
- Iron Fist vs. (most of) The X-Men, IF 15
- The Authority - You can hate a lot of it (even all of it), but for pure nihilistic mayhem it's hard to beat.
