Was Crisis Necessary?

Yes, to sell more comics.  Bottom line.
Do we really need six flavors of Cheerios?

In Sweden Crisis started with Man of Steel and I survived, so no.

Jon Godson: "Crisis of Infinite Cheerios by Bendis and Finch."

Thanks for the laugh, Jon.  I needed that!

Crisis gave George Perez the opportunity to draw some excellent pictures.  Beyond that, I consider it a total waste of time and energy.

I enjoyed CRISIS.

I think that in the aftermath, DC dropped the ball in most cases--JB's
Superman NOT being one of them, however.

Now that's what I call a late breakfast.

For me Crisis was necessary, just for the fact that it made me pay more attention to DC comics. Previous to this, I barely even flipped through a DC comic, but it seems that because of Crisis, and after, the stories had more interest for me. Don't get me wrong, there were a few issues of JLA, and JSA that I liked, as well as some Batman, but overall, I could easily have done without. But after Crisis that changed. So yes, put me ont the side of a Crisis being important, even with all of the headaches that go with it.

IMO, the only characters that needed "fixing" were Superman and Wonder Woman.  Barry Allen desperately needed a new writer (15 years of the same flavor really took its toll), but the Flash was still a viable character.

DC Comics went 50 years without a company-wide retcon.  Now they've felt the need to do it again after only 20 years (little mini Crises aside). Will they make it to (let's say) 2010, without having to have another go?

Should we start a Crisis Pool?
