Wow. Each one of these commissions seems to supplant my previous favorite piece. This one is going to be tough to top. Nobody does Dr. Doom better than you, JB.

WOW. Lovely piece of work. Just about the best drawing of Doom I've seen since...hell, I don't know...since that Byrne guy was the regular FF artist...

I keep looking at the stonework...
****
One day in First Year, in Art College, the Drawing instructor set us an assignment in perspective. A cakewalk, I figured, as I pretty much had perspective already nailed, courtesy of Jon Gnagy. So, as my subject, I decided to do a couple of "Medieval" guards standing in a watch tower, looking down into the courtyard of the castle they were guarding. No reference, of couse! And boy did I labor over that piece! I wanted it to look like an etching. Fine lines piled upon fine lines. Took me what felt like forever! And when it was done, all the stones looked like. . . . bales of hay. I think I've finally figured that one out. . .

Astounding work JB. What a great pleasure to see it come together from pencils to ink, now if only we could sneak a camera above your drawing table.lol

Interesting use of positive/negative on the village rooftops in the background. One of the things I like about all these commissions is the strong layouts and expert spotted blacks, this one no exception.
I also like the dangly feet on...wait, is that Zorba? Kristoff? I'm confusing my Latverian lore here...

Character called Zorba, who had taken over Latveria
in Doom's absence, and run the whole place into the
ground. Circa FF 247.
