And what about the money-making option that's been doing the newsround of late, that is, product placement in the strip!

Has anyone seen the latest Wizard (dodges eggs)?

Summer preview issue. There's a spread interviewing Joe Q. and
Straczynski talking about how screwed up Spider-Man is and that they are
planning to fix it. Interesting article.

Joe Q. makes a statement regarding how things are very good for Spider-
Man right now but good things don't always last.

Light at the end of the tunnel?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and wonder...all the stuff JoeQ and JMS say is "screwed up" with Spider-Man is all stuff that happened before they got their hands on the character, right?  Stuff like "Sins of the Past" and Aunt May knowing Peter is Spider-Man couldn't possibly have screwed up the character, right?

Moyer-

Yes. I saw it

As a fan of the marriage, I am sad about it.

As someone who has read all of JMS's Spider-man's I am confused how he can argue there is no supporting cast, when he has chosen not to use them at all (save MJ and Aunt May)

As someone who sees far greater problems with Spider-man than the marriage, I wonder why Joe Q is focised so much on that and fear he will not get the results he believes he will by making the change

And it is a shame for JMS to dislike the marriage, since he frankly does a really good job writing it. Probably what he does best.

As for his life getting tougher, i foresaw that Avengers Tower and being an avenger would likely not last beyond civil war.

Yeah.  Are they acknowledging that they are, at least in part, responsible for the woeful state of Spider-Man these days, or are they passing the buck?

It is ironic that Quesada and JMS have done the most damage to Spider-Man since his marriage.

...which makes for a really boring superhero comic.

All they said was (1) marriage (2) great supporting cast not available (which isn;t really true for the most part just not used) (3) JMS said he wish Gwen, not possible, Harry and Flash (coma but now in Peter David book) were still around and (4) basically time to put him through the ringer and (5) should be young-greatest teen hero.

Nothing about Gwen/Norman, Aunt May knowing, new powers/stingers or anything like that, whatever you think of them. (new costume was previously said not to last beyond this year)

Oh they did admit THE OTHER was messed up, more from a lack of writer coordination than anything else. They didn't specifically say what they were talking about though

Yes and no.  The stories take much longer, so what you used to get a little of everything per issue, even when the stories continued, you don't get anymore. On the other hand, I kinda feel JMS was somewhat reinvigorated by the New Avengers stuff, and there was some good action, and whatever you think of him as a New Avenger, some effective use of them as supporting characters in the book-Wolverine, Jarvis et al.  In fact, better characterization than in New Avengers I think.

On the other hand, the Road to Civil War put a damper on that and its been very talky, somewhat interesting but talky.

Yeah.  "Writer coordination".  That's what was fundamentally wrong with THE OTHER.

Why do I have an image of a 3 year old child standing next to a broken vase and promising to fix it in my head all of the sudden?
