The American Pie kids are all high school seniors, and since they have sex on graduation night we could make the leap that they have all turned 18.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High, by contrast, had an explicit sex scene with a character who was a 14- or 15-year-old freshman. Looking back, I kind of understand why my mom didn't want me to see it when I was 12.

Teen sexuality doesn't make me go ewwww, but reckless teen sex infuriates me. Just like driving too fast and smoking "because it's cool," teenagers often can't see past the next weekend to think about the consequences of their actions. We all outgrow it, but sometimes that doesn't happen until damage has been done. 

JB's Cassie was also someone with whom young girls could identify. This "hot" version is there solely for sexually screwed up, middle-aged fanboys.

Compare the current Kara Zor-El Supergirl to the one from the Silver Age. The latter was not sexualized -- she was the girl next door. That was part of her appeal.

It's impossible to imagine a comic from that period in which Supergirl had sex with, say, Robin. Not only would such a comic not see print but the very idea would have been seen as a bad joke or in bad taste. What's gained by our "freedom" now? Are the stories better?

Twenty years, even ten years ago, you could not have published a comic in which Superman, Batman*, or even Spider-Man had sex outside of marriage -- now we're publishing comics in which minors are having sex outside of marriage? Wow. It's The O.C., I guess.

*When Batman and Talia were together in the '80s, it was not in a regular comic and great pains were made to imply that they were married.

Well it is popular with teenagers and pre-teens, so i understand.

It is a weird thing, I normally would not have liked something like this, but I found something very sweet about the issue.  I don't know. I used to be a lot tougher on these things.

I will say that girls seem to identify a lot, unfortunately, with sexualized famous people.  The clothes and outfits are much racier much younger now.

When at the mall or movie theatre, my wife and I will sometimes pass the time with a game of "Jailbait or Not."

I had managed to forget (mostly) Whoopi Goldberg playing the proud grandmother when her 14 year old daughter gave girth, as Whoopi had at the same age.

It used to be a stigma to be a teenage mom now it is a badge of honor for a girl to squirt out a kid before she is 16 or even 14...

Its this administrations failed policy about abstinece.  They don't want the kids having sex.  The problem is they are and they are not going to stop.  We have to do something!
