Well, around 20 years ago she got turned into a prostitute, so it's not entirely out of the question.

That Ms. Marvel story was one of the great disappointments of my young comic-buying career. I started buying Avengers off the racks at 198 and a couple months later 200 sold out before I could find a copy. I was so devastated that my dad bought me a subscription so it wouldn't happen again. Then when I discovered my first comic shop two or three later, I finally got a copy of 200 and ... ugh. Distasteful, even for a 12-year-old.
I still wonder what Marvel editorial had against Ms. Marvel that they got rid of her in such a fashion.

"Avengers 200, the "Ms. Marvel raped and pregnated by/with Immortus" story was twenty five years ago."
Am I the only one who read that comic and didn't really "get" what happened to Ms. Marvel? Was it really a good thing that Marvel went back in that Avengers Annual and spelled it out for the dim-witted, like myself?

Apologies if this has been posted before, I didn't notice it anywhere here.
Bendis on 'time' in the Ulti-verse:
Q: Is Ultimate Peter Parker ever going to age?
BMB: We’re using what we call the Simpsons time frame. He’ll
graduate from high school when Bart moves up a grade. Actually, I think
he’ll be turning 16 around the 100th issue. I figure every hundred
issues, we’ll get to 400 by the time he turns 20. But I think about 10
months have passed since Uncle Ben died—just a really sh*tty 10 months.

I'd be amazed if, given the fairly conservative climate in the country, DC would actually have Batman father a kid out of wedlock.

Already been done, in the SON OF THE DEMON graphic novel, about 20 years ago. Of course, DC quickly pushed this out of continuity, but at the time, it was canon.

IIRC, they went to great pains to show that Batman and Talia were "married" -- making a reference to a previous story in which only the consent of the bride is needed to legitimize a wedding.

There's something in Matt Reed's post 9th from the
top that's throwing off the HTML for the rest of the
page. I think It's something to do with the quote.
Could someone take a look at it? It's really hard to
read this thread now.

I'm not seeing it, Hugh, although it could be because I'm the one that may have created the problem. Anyone else see what Hugh is talking about?
Edited to add: I tried something, so let me know if it's fixed for you, Hugh.

Thread looks fine to me.
I didn't realize Son of the Demon became an Elseworlds story. Kinda like The Golden Age, huh?

Well, around 20 years ago (Catwoman) got turned into a prostitute, so it's not entirely out of the question.**** What does it say about the sad boys that while I was being threatened with dismemberment for putting Ma and Pa Kent into Superman's supporting cast, this rather radical change to Selina passed without a ripple? Authority figures must die, but women are all whores anyway!!

"IIRC, they went to great pains to show that Batman and Talia were "married" -- making a reference to a previous story in which only the consent of the bride is needed to legitimize a wedding."
So then it's okay for Robin at the time (Dick Grayson), a character that was supposed to be someone to whom the readers could identify, to have slept with Starfire out of wedlock, but Batman had to be "married" in some form or another to do the nasty.
There's something wrong about that picture.
