Wow...that Anecdote with Marv Wolffman (and his insistence of saying that he created Blade andd the NEW LUTHOR) left me wondering...wasn't he a bit older and experienced, and at that time the term did not exist, to behave like a troll does actually?

*****
He did create Blade (along with Gene Colan).

Regarding sexual tension in comics: I really regret that the Vision and the
Scarlet Witch got married. Theirs was the most interesting "forbidden love"
of all.

Right. The debate isn't whether or not Wolfman co-created "Blade", but what constitutes "work-for-hire" and how someone should be paid when using said creation in a multi-media world.

I did never said that Wolfman did not create Blade. It's the insistence that sometimes get tiresome. I have not seen Mr. Byrne saying again, and again, and again "Hey, look. I did create Magpie, and Silver Swan, and Kitty Pryde, and Dark Phoenix, and...and...and...me...me....me!!!". That sounds like Daffy Duck sometimes!!!

This is a long thread, so please forgive me if someone's said this and I missed it.
I think some superheroes should be teenagers and even kids (loved Power Pack) because it's fun and it introduces elements and angles you can't have with only adults; and I think the characters who are teenagers should stay that way. Right now I'm creating a superhero team with one member who's a girl in her late teens and one who's a ten-year-old boy (just thinking about guardianship and so on generates new ideas). BUT... perhaps the shift toward premature ageing of these characters has a bit to do not with how real teenagers are, but with how they want to be. Perhaps these days the majority of fourteen-year-olds don't identify with fourteen-year-olds, but with young adults.
IMP.

I agree Juan. As muchs as I like the stuff Marv Wolfman has written, a tour at his homepage really gives a "Look att all the stuff that has become popular and its all becouse of MEEEEEEEE!!!" feeling. Anyway, I won't bash the guy anymore. I like the the recent Teen Titans/Infinite Crisis tie-in stuff he's done.

There was quite a lot of sexual innuendo in Marv's New Teen Titans run. Particularly whenever Starfire was around. More particularly whenever Gar Logan would comment on Starfire's, um, assets. And even more particularly whenever Terry Long and Starfire were in the same panel (usually right in front of Donna Troy!).

CATWOMAN SPOILERS:
It seems as if Selina now has a child out of wedlock (one year later). And it's hinted at that Batman might be the father. While I doubt the latter would take place, things have changed in comics enough that I'm not entirely convinced.
Twenty-five years ago, I doubt you could write a story in which Selina Kyle (even when outright villainous) had a child out of wedlock. Strange days indeed.

Stephen,
Avengers 200, the "Ms. Marvel raped and pregnated by/with Immortus" story was twenty five years ago.
As for Selina, we will probably have to wait until around issue 13 of 52 to learn the circumstances of the pregnacy (for all we know, we married and lost a husband in the missing year).

I'd be amazed if, given the fairly conservative climate in the country, DC would actually have Batman father a kid out of wedlock. Especially since Time/Warner is such a huge target.
Plus, Batman's so obviously being set up as the father that I'm sure there's a twist coming up.

And 25 years ago, it still sucked.
(and yes, had incredibly nefarius consequences down the road - actually the Avengers sucked after that until the legendary Roger Stern run arrived - only to be ended by another new highly knowledgeable Editor)
