Teen pregnancy rates have actually declined in the U.S. since the introduction of The Pill in the 1970s, and yet a higher percentage of teens are having sex. How is that possible?
****
From what I understand, unmarried teen birth rate which were very low rates surged in the 50s, declined in the 60s and 70s and surged in the late 80s, and then declined in the 90s through 2000.
and it remains a much bigger problem for hisapnics and then blacks then for whites.

Data is incomplete because they only really started to do national studies in 1970

I want the characters that I develop an attachment to to be happy.
****
If they were, I'll bet you'd get bored real fast!
*****
I didn't say I want them to be overjoyed all the time. Happy doesn't mean they can't have an occasional arguement. I just prefer my drama to come from the battle at hand. And frankly that makes more sense for me. My version of realism, I suppose I someone has to deal with the stress of saving the world constantly then the little everyday problems aren't going to bother them as much. I also think it would help teenaged characters mature faster, that petty grudge that a regular teen can obsess over could kill someone if you're a superhero.
*****
So many male writers are almost misogynistic in their portrayal of female characters. And some fan boys seem to be turned on by the huge breasted cartoon drawings. I can never understand why a man would be attracted to a comic book drawing
******
For the same reason they might find a painting attractive.

That is sarcastic right?

The sketch of Cassie that JB provided underscores that the current Britney Spears version is a *betrayal* of the character as originally created. If she *had* to age to her middle teens, did she have to get breast implants and have ribs removed, as well? Couldn't she have remained the tomboyish chraracter we all remembered?

I had never seen the original look for Wonder Girl. My first experience with her was in Teen Titans. I like the character, but quite a different look.
Definitely true she is unique the way JB drew her and less so now.

Hadn't really given that thought, and sorry to learn that Wolfman had. **** When we were "working together" on Superman, Wolfman called me up on day with a question. If Superman's body generated a forcefield that made anything inside it as invulnerable as he -- hence the skintight costume -- what, Marv asked, would happen if Superman was having sex with a virgin? I flapped my jaw in astonishment for a moment, and finally said "Tell you what, Marv -- you come up with a Code approved story in which that is a vital element, and I will come up with a solution."

You know, I never seem to think of these weird things or problems everyone has with the superhero genre.
the only time I think of it is when they raise it in a story. If they wouldn't raise it in a story "You'd have to be crazy to dress up like a bat" I'd never even think of it.

I really hope Marv was just kidding when he said that. If he wasn't kidding, then Marv -- who's been writing superhero comics since, what, 1968? -- is too old to be writing superhero comics.

Bizarrest behind-the-scenes story ever!
And I thought Claremont doing Magneto's dialogue in a Wicked Witch of the
West voice was weird...

Maybe it was just an attempt to get a rise out of JB.
