The original... Snicker-snack! (as seen in the latest Fables trade, so yes, it is "in Comics")

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
  And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
  The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
  And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
  And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
  The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
  He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
  He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
  Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
  And the mome raths outgrabe.

I can't remember what comic it was from, but there was a fight in a saloon and there was an explosion and the sound effect was  Barroom!"

I always thought that was funny.

There was a Don Martin cartoon in which a woman took her top off, and the
sound was "FLUP-A-DUP!"

When the video for the Madonna song "Material Girl" -- the one where she's
recreating the classic "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" sequence -- came
out, there was a moment in which she turned and leaned backward towards
the camera, allowing her cleavage to almost spill out. Every time the video
came to that moment, a buddy of mine would cry, "Flup-a-dup!"

Don't have it in front of me, but I think Arcade's garbage truck which grabbed people off the street as victims for Murderworld from a late 70s / early 80s JB effort sounded something like

SPFLANNG!

As I recall, Spider-man, or someone, comments on the sound, saying it reminds him of the sound made by Arcade's truck from a previous adventure.  Is it the writer or artist who usually comes up with such sounds?

Variations of "mrah" and "grah" from Marvel's GODZILLA title.

The "skreeeee!" sound when Starfire blasts something.

God, I loved Don Martin's sound effects! Flup-a-dup indeed!
