Quesada or Shooter?

With everything that has happened at Marvel lately, I'm very tempted to say Shooter. It might prove to be a mistake, but he might bring back a level of professionalism that seems to be missing today.
I don't know..drastic times, drastic measures?

Well at the very least he would put bullets in Stracynski and Bendis, allowing whoever succecded him to have a toxic free enviorment.

At the height of his dicatorship, Shooter seemed to have the power to stifle
talent and turn out fairly mediocre comics. They were still readable,
though, which is more than can be said for today's ^^***** FANFARE.

While not a Shooter fan, I have to confess that I really enjoyed the majority of the early 80's Marvel books - I have great memories attached to those books.  SW I & II were huge letdowns, but they provided some fun, mindless entertainment to this then-19-Year-old.

I also have to confess I don't even recognize what they're putting out now.

So yeah, I guess I'd take Shooter.

While looking at some David Mazzucchelli original art I found some pages containing an early design of the Beyonger. These are from Daredevil #223.

There are notes about other pages from this issue at http://www.theartistschoice.com/mazzucchelli.html
(scroll about halfway down).

That guy really captured my attention back then, and I was a kid.

So, basically Shooter didn't get along with Brevoort, for whatever reason, and decided to quit? Too bad.

I know that some group acquired the rights to the Valiant characters not that long ago, and I hope that they get Shooter involved with that.

I would even hope they could get Layton involved to. Despite his revisionist history, where he was responsible for every Valiant success, and Shooter's contributions minimized, he did play a strong role in that success. Seems Shooter and Layton have nothing but contempt for each other, so that probably won't come to pass.

Oh well, I guess I can still hope that one day Next Men and Valiant will be back on the shelves.

The choice between Shooter and Quesada?

I would have to go with Shooter.  Maybe he can be the fix-it guy he once was.

Wow! It was only speculation? I don't remember it being speculation but
that's possible. I was going to the San Diego ComiCon in those days.

Maybe I misunderstood something in the OHOTMU:
"Believing he must take what he thought might be the only chance to save the multiverse from someday being destroyed by the Beyonder, the Molecule Man destroyed the machine, killing the infant within, the machine's destruction unleashed the Beyonder's titanic energy, which the Molecule Man projected into another dimension. There the Beyonder's energy caused the creation of a new universe."

Entry for Beyonder

Is that not *the* "New Universe" or was it something else entirely?

Edit: Between Joey-da-Q and Shooter, I'd pick Shooter.

Here is what Wikipedia says:

The last page of the final issue showed that the events of the story had resulted in the creation of a new universe. Some fans have speculated that this was a reference to the New Universe line of books Shooter was launching at Marvel at the time, though he has subsequently denied this.

Well, if you also read FANTASTIC FOUR issues #317-319, you got to see that same universe, and I believe there was nothing that indicated that it was the New Universe.
