Another great issue, other than JB stabbing me in the heart and all...  I can't remember the details of reading this issue, but I'm sure by the time we got to the page of Wild Child and Northstar where "Guardian" is seen from behind that I must have known what was up, but I probably thought he was brainwashed or something. I'm pretty sure the last page was a complete shock.

I do love that cover though!  It was always such a thrill to see a new AF cover on the stands.

Edited to make "Wild Child" two words!

Wow! No, I've never noticed that before. That's just one of the reasons why I love these reading clubs.

That was new to me too, as was the She-Hulk poster someone mentioned up-thread.

No, and I just read this run recently. I love that kind of stuff.

Wow. I never noticed it either. That Hulk vover with the forbidden red circle was already planned, then.

This issue deflated the 13 year old me faster than untied balloon, but it was sooo good.  The panel with Heather in front of the news stand is a favorite.  A great touch.

Wow about the Hulk cover.

Two things I missed in this issue!

This is a fun issue.

For me, Alpha Flight was great, but it ended with Byrne leaving.  I was excited about JB handling the green goliath, but it always seemed JB was hampered in doing what he wanted with the character.  I was not surprised when the run ended so quickly.

I remember being on a family vacation in West Edmonton Mall and finding the Island Fantasy comic store. They had the page cut out of the comics with Heather saying something like "Your right here Heather". It really made my ten year old head explode, having never been to New York, it was really cool to see the Marvel universe 'come alive'.

JB, I was wondering what kind of reference you used for this issue?
