Oh and hey! This issue introduced the Flexographic colors! I really liked the much brighter colors, but it seems most folks here didn't care for it too much.

I really like Aurora's costume introduced here.  The thick blacks make the lighter colors pop.  Given the background revealed in the previous issues, I just couldn't see why Aurora and Northstar would dress alike.

When I got a Flexographic book from that printed clearly (evidently the early part of the print run), I liked it.  When it didn't print clearly, I despised it, as there would be spots with no ink whatsoever, or broken lettering.  Overall, I saw way too many that didn't print clearly, so I was willing to give up the brighter colors for books that I could actually read.

That was one lucky construction worker.

Loved Aurora's new costume. Nice to see Walter and her in an issue together.

That splash page has always reminded me of the Colossus X-Men splash.

Loving JB's inks in this era.

Well, this is my preferred issue... Gilded Lily, the location of action, the new Aurora costume...( tears in my eyes as I see again those pages ! ... and yet for the first time in original version!).

Can hardly wait for the other AF classic TPBs...

There was a time where a Byrne cover just forced a reader to pick it up from the stands.

This is one of those covers.

And, incidently, one hell of a Ditko moment on the last page. Ditko's Molten Man ramped up!

One of my favorite issues of the run. This was always my favorite Aurora
look and it looks like JB's truly found his visual groove with all of the
characters.

Any particular inspiration for the house on Tamarind Island?

How did Keith Williams become involved doing background inks for you?

JB: If you were doing this cover today, would you have modeled it like the
DP Robotman cover?
