AWESOME!!!!!  Thanks Ryan.

Quick question: page one says background inks by....does that mean that JB did the inks on the characters but that the background was inked by someone else?

For me, this was a very strange issue. The change of Aurora's costume, the revelations of Talisman, Puck's love for Heather and revelations of Walter's past life...AF was a very different comic, of what we used to knew about comics....

Sasquatch don't need no stinking chain...

A hearty welcome to Keith Williams on the inking assist.  I enjoyed the issues he worked on.

A few pages and panels that rank as some of my favorites with Aurora.  As much as I liked her long hair and B&W costume, she does look sexy showing more skin, which Walter obviously appreciates.  The scene in the dark with her fighting herself was well done.

Puck can't have Heather, she's mine!

One of my AF favourites and the issue I've re-read the most I'm sure.

What was the reason for the back-and-forth switching between Wiacek and JB-with-Williams on inks? And this looked like another issue where it was fully pencilled before inked - am I right?

I remember at the time wondering who advised JB to have Aurora say "SAPRISTE" instead of "SAPRISTI". A similar error was made in having Arnold say "NO PROBLEMO" instead of "NO PROBLEMA".

Furthermore, having a character saying "Sapristi!" in French is like having the character saying "Caramba!" in Spanish, or "By Jove!" in English. In reality, nobody speaks that way. I would have suggested something like "OH, VAS DONC ..." for "OH, GO ..." leaving the elipsis to the imagination of the reader.

A few years after this, DC did a JLA book in which the team takes down a Quebec extremist group. On the the extremists said something like "sticallis!" which is hillarious in that it gave away that the writer was phonetically trying to have the character say "hostie de calisse!"

Really, when attempting to do foreign dialogue, writers should ask people who actually transact daily in the language.

Speaking of Aurora, I know the Jeanne-Marie persona barely spoke English and obviously had a French accent, but did the Aurora persona?

The Jeanne Marie - Walter scene in the boat look very... Milo Manara to me. I hope John considers that a praise!

The most unusual villain of the run.  The opening pages were a treat for fans of Sasquatch.  I still think of that scene whenever I journey past freshly cleared Forrest.
