Bingo! And a thing of beauty it is, too.

Say, anyone have an image of the french reprint cover JB mentioned? I never
knew they were painted covers over there. Painted reproductions of JB's (a la
Gary Cody) or original paintings?

The comics was called STRANGE, and it routinely reprinted Marvel stuff. I've
Googled, but, as you can imagine, there is little success with any
combination of "strange", "french" and "comic".

Perhaps one of our French or Francophone members will be able to find
something.

I'd like to chime in and note - I sure feel out of place after reading this - the group opinion, as well as Author intent was to make Elizabeth unlikeable, but... I instantly liked her character!  Thought she was complex, had reasons for being hostile, and found her to be totally interesting and multi-facited, as were the rest of the Alpha Flight Gang.

I liked Elizabeth as well.  Maybe because I was at the age where I was a pain in the ass teenager & had a lot of problems with my own father, so I identified with her pretty well.

I bumped around yahoo.fr until I found this index of Strange covers:

http://www.comicsvf.com/fs/8749.php

It looks like Talisman is on the covers of 204, 205, and 249.

What a ... Strange series!

I'd love to get my hands on some of those  - it's bizarre to me that the covers are mostly Spider-Man, DD, and Iron Man for 200 issues or so, and then Rom and Alpha Flight are cover stars for a while.  Funny what's popular in certain parts of the world!

Also interesting to note that it's a Marvel series... till the end, when it becomes a DC series.

Fascinating...
